Tread of Nitto's all terrain light truck tire
Multi-Purpose Traction and Handling

The tread pattern void ratio is balanced for off-road traction and on-road handling. Coupling joints between tread block elements reduce excessive flex for better traction and steering response on and off road.

Off-Road Performance

The lugs on the shoulder are staggered to improve traction in deep sand and loose dirt.

High-Density Siping - High Void Ratio

Deep sipes and lateral voids effectively channel away water. Siping helps resist hydroplaning by cutting through pockets of water on road surfaces. This technology provides all-season traction.

Dual Sidewall Designs

Each Grappler has two sidewall designs so you can choose how your tires look. On the Terra Grappler one side has solid outlined lettering and the other has striped lettering.

Terra Grapplers are Excellent pickup tires

In over three decades of driving pickups almost exclusively, and driving a lot a miles, the Terra Grappler is my favorite tire produced in the last 20+ years. I have tried tires from all major tire manufacturers, on several pickups, but never bought any other set more than once, until the Terra Grapplers. Nitto made a true winner with the Terra Grappler. Good longevity while still maintaining a relatively soft compound which does not lose traction like some of their competitors tires do. My current Silverado has 194K miles on it, and after putting up with inferior factory tires for the first 45K miles, I am now on my third set of Terra Grapplers (LT265/75/16, E load rated), and will definitely buy another set when these wear out. These are a truly fantastic set of tires, and in my opinion, the best pickup tire available. Good road manners, and great for dessert running and many types of off-road driving. I have found them to give great traction in all but extreme mud, or extreme winter ice conditions (where studded tires are warranted). I do a lot of both on road and off-road driving, and use E rated tires to avoid sidewall punctures and flats in general. They do have a stiff sidewall, and ride firm like a truck, not like a mushy feeling non "LT" rated tire. The still sidewalls help in responsive turning and cornering abilities in addition to preventing sidewall punctures (I had multiple sidewall punctures before switching to E rated tires). Off-road, I air down (significantly reduce the tire pressure when needed for additional off road traction), and have no concerns about punctures. From experience with prior tires I purchased the tire warranty from my shop, and have used the Terra Grapplers fearlessly in conditions that other tires would simply not have survived (such as both high speed dessert running and rock crawling in a variety of large jagged rocks). I am averaging about 50K miles (80K km) per set, use them hard, and have just never had any issues (no cuts, no bruises, no sidewall punctures, and no unusual wear. Absolutely nothing negative to report). Based on my third set, I will be looking for set number four when these wear out! Yes, I REALLY like the Terra Grappler E rated tires! I have not tried the D rated Terra Grapplers, but I can vouch for the E rated version without reservation. Highly recommended...
